Pearl #9 – Posture – We All Have One, But Just How Is Yours?

What am I talking about?

Well, whether you like it or not, you DO have a posture and it DOES go a long way to deciding whether or not you are healthy and whether or not you are to succumb to one of many degenerative conditions endemic in our society.

Remember, it is highly unlikely that you have seen anyone with poor posture bubbling with vitality. It doesn’t happen.

So, how do you feel about your own posture or that of a loved one?

Just getting back to basics for a moment, today I want to make absolutely sure that everyone recognizes posture for what it is.

Your posture, or that of any family member (who are you thinking of?) pretty much determines how people see you, and how you will age.

Here are two photos of the same guy. One looks tall and confident, the other slouched …… how does he look to you??

Let’s consider a few questions about the photos.

Who is going to be the more confident, more sporty and going to do better in life? Who is going to live longer and looks the more attractive?

Who is more likely to have headaches and dizziness? Who will certainly develop premature spinal degeneration?

I consider these to be relevant questions, don’t you? Well, how do people see you? Or should I say, how do you want people to see you?

Forward head posture is one of the biggest health problems in Singapore. Its effects are seen everywhere; they are reliable and predictable. It accelerates aging and degeneration of the spine, impacts the nervous system within and robs millions of their potential.

A study by the American Geriatrics Society confirmed what chiropractors have been saying for years. That “poor posture, including forward head posture, slumped shoulders and a slouched spine is a major cause of decreased lifespan”.

I have dedicated the last 12 years to this growing problem and using research from many areas of health care, we have developed programs to make the necessary spinal corrections.

Our success rate is incredibly high and for those who follow through consistently, it is near 100%.

When we came to these shores in 2010 we saw the lifestyles and the postures and we knew we were in the right place. We have already helped hundreds improve their lives and we are grateful to be able to make a difference.

These are very real problems that are easy to deal with just as long as they are recognized early enough.
