How do you wish to age?

Stand tall if you want a long, happy and productive life. As corrective chiropractors, we slow down the aging process that attacks the human body. This is one aspect of our job that we absolutely love and to hear a client say that they feel 10 or 20 years younger is so gratifying!

How do you with to age

One thing we all need to face, is that time doesn’t stand still and gradually our bodies must change as the years take their toll. Unfortunately, our body’s tend to age faster and faster as they get older. But aging is not just a result of passing time. Aging is a degenerative process and unfortunately this deterioration accelerates if we don’t look after ourselves. It is a cruel fact that some people simply come to age faster than others. If you look around, you must agree that you will see an enormous difference in how age is taking its toll on the people around you.

Certainly, in Asia, it is clear that many people are losing their health at an earlier age than perhaps necessary. Many become old before their time and not only are they losing a few years from their ‘lifespan’, but often they are losing literally decades from their ‘healthspan’. So just what is it that is affecting all these people? 

The common denominator for all the folks that are aging badly is their stiffness and pain!

The people that are clearly aging the fastest just seem so very stiff. Is the stiffness a consequence of failing health, or is it part of the cause? The answer is that these two states are so closely linked, they are both feeding off each other. The stiffer the spine then the worse the health. The worse the health, then the stiffer the spine becomes. It becomes one huge, vicious circle.


We wonder how the office workers today are going to age tomorrow?

It is gradually becoming crystal clear that if you want to have a long and productive life you absolutely must look after your spine. We’ve been saying it for years but unfortunately the problem is not going away. If anything, it is worsening. In a country where the government is worried about its aging population. We see the slumped, stiffening spines of the elderly everywhere. It seems to be stripping this nation of its vitality.

In Japan recently, a study looking at seniors between the ages of 65 and 94 clearly showed that the more you stoop and stiffen the more likely you are to become DEPENDENT on others for help with the basic daily activities.

Some reasons stooping accelerates aging

  1. Poor alignment of joints results in premature degeneration and arthritis.

  2. Increased nerve pressure causes more and more dysfunction.

  3. Reduced vital capacity (less oxygen to the body’s cells)

  4. Stiffening and pain associated with forward stoop.

  5. Poor balance and slower brain function.
