Whiplash Injuries: Unpacking The Impact and Our Chiropractic Response

Whiplash

What is Whiplash?

Whiplash typically occurs during a car collision, suddenly causing the head to jerk back and forth beyond its normal limits.

This traumatic motion can stretch or tear the muscles and ligaments supporting the head and spine.

The Aftermath of Whiplash

Post-whiplash, the discs can tear or rupture and vertebrae forced out of their normal position, reducing the range of motion. Resultant scar tissue ensures an increased rate of spinal degeneration and eventually increasing health issues. The sooner the intervention, the better the outcome.

Symptoms of Whiplash

Symptoms may not appear until weeks or even months post-injury. They can include headaches, dizziness, and blurred vision. Pain in the shoulder, arms, and hands, reduced ability to turn and bend, and low back problems may also occur.

Consultation for Whiplash at Total Health Chiropractic Singapore

In the initial consultation, our chiropractors will determine if you are a suitable candidate for our spinal rehab procedures. The process includes a thorough case history, and any necessary chiropractic, orthopedic, and neurological exams. If necessary, X-Rays will be organized to visualize any damage to your spine.
