Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a condition characterized by pain, numbness, and tingling in the hands and fingers.
The compression of the Median Nerve causes carpal tunnel as it crosses the wrist. The Median Nerve travels from the middle of the neck and down to the fingers, specifically providing nerve supply to the thumb and index finger. A weakness of the hand can follow in more severe cases.

The chronic repetitive use of the hands causes this ailment. The most common repetitive task being the extension of your wrist while typing on a keyboard. Of course, there can be many other causes, a chef, for example, holding pans incorrectly.
Carpal Tunnel can be very disabling. It can result in atrophy of the muscles of the hands. This atrophy causes the inability to grasp objects and loss of function.
Unfortunately, traditional treatments, including surgical intervention, often have no effect.
Symptoms mimicking Carpal Tunnel come from the neck. These nerves are stretched, pinched, or twisted as they leave the neck due to arthritis, misalignment, or poor posture; this can cause adverse effects down the arms into the hands.
